Car won't start

Asked by Joyous13 Sep 26, 2016 at 07:25 PM about the 2006 Audi A6 4.2 quattro Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I drove my Audi A6 Quattro in a bad
rainstorm. A lot of water on the road. Drove
it home parked it and went to start it and
now it won't turn over at all. Is it a sensor?
The starter? Electrical? Please let me know
what you think. Thanks

Check the battery, meaning load test it,then check the battery cables to be tight and good,if all is good, the starter may have got shorted by water, have it checked.

i have never known a audi to be as susceptible to weather especially since they run so hot that once water touches it during operation it vaporizes. Check the wiring harness tho it is possible you have an exposed wire touching water. anything after that i would suggest checking crank case hoses for signs of cracks or cloggs. The bigger engines rely very highly on crank case hoses being in one peice and not clogged.
