2006 audi a8l quattro disconnected battery key stuck in ignition and trunk clothed

Asked by GuruWTKZG Apr 09, 2019 at 01:56 PM about the 2006 Audi A8 L quattro AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I disconnected the battery to work on the radio and
the trunk lid closed on me with the key stuck in
ignition. There is no release button on the ignition.
And there is no access to the trunk release latch.
I've searched YouTube for the last 2 days trying to
find a way to open the trunk or get the key out.
Cant find alter points on the car to jump it. Or at
least supply enough power to do one or the other.
And yes I know it cant be jump started because the
battery is connected. Can anyone help?

There's no way to access the truck from the back seats? There should be a trunk release inside the trunk. Second option, jump start it, or use a jump box to put power to the car to release the ignition, because the ignition is eletronic and wont release without power.

There should be a jump option under the hood. That or just ground it to the frame/motor and use the power on the alternator.

To release the key it is easy. get a nail. near where the key goes in is a dimple. press the dimple with the nail at same time turn key and pull it out
