Extend wheelbase

Asked by Adam Mar 19, 2015 at 01:43 PM about the 1991 Toyota MR2 Coupe

Question type: Car Customization

I want to extend the wheelbase of a Toyota MR2 W20 by roughly 9 inches. Is there an
inexpensive way to do this like pushing the front tires forward and the back tires back?

There is always a way. But inexpensive? Not even. You would have to either lift it a LOT or cut fender wells, and suspension, that's a can of worms that I can't imagine. Who knows? I don't claim to know everything but the very thought....let me look in to something..

A unibody...mid-engine...I just can't even imagine a way to move suspension..... lengthen steering column... Maybe somebody does?

Cost more than the car is worth and not increase value. Would have to be inspected for safety.

custom and inexpensive do not go together. custom costs money. usually lots of it.
