help! rattle from engine any advice welcome

rattle from engine at 2000 revs diapears when higher reved. sounds like it is coming from the top of the engine also oil light is on when car is at idle but goes off when driving. only bought the car 2 days ago im in a real bad mood because of this can any1 help??

sounds like a weak oil pump. the rattling is the valves bouncing in their seats. generally happens with low oil. the rattle disapears when the oil pressure is brought back up to a normal level. I'd change the oil pump. especially if its a turbo model.
It could be low on oil or have old oil as well. Some good advice from me to you, change the fluids on any used car the day you buy it. You really have no other way of knowing when its time, or if the correct types of fluids are being used. Good luck.
