key to can I get another 1998 Chevy Lumina
ignition with key, from a junkyard  and install
it on my 1998 Chevy Lumina as long as it

You have to hook a voltmeter set on ohms to check the resistance there are lists on eBay for ignition keys for the Chevy's you have to get the VIN # and check with dealership for the correct key .They come in 14 different keys each one will measure one voltmeter front .3 ohms to 12 ohms each key has its sepeerate resistor chip. with your Vin Chevy can tell you your key # and you can order it on eBay from one of those sellers but you still have to get the ignition switch and take the steering wheel and switched off it takes 2 hours about maybe three be careful to take pics after and before each step to know the order .Or get the Haynes manual .
