Car starts but dies

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car acted as if the fuel pump went out. Was replaced by an electric fuel
pump, due to cost. Now the car will start but then die after a few seconds.
Replaced the EGR valve also. Any ideas why it wont stay started?

Do you have a check engine light? Start there? You say the fuel pump was replaced, right? it sounds like the fuel pump was either not the correct pump or not installed correctly...

I feel as if the new Electric pump is not as strong, maybe like it isnt getting enough fuel or possibly getting too much & flooding it. It has the new EGR valve and a new filter

did they change the pump and sender or just the pump? And if they changed just the pump do you know if the replaced any of the fuel lines or cleaned the pick up sock?
