What is the REAL problem with 2006 Hyundai locked brakes?

Asked by Guru9BTS6M Jun 11, 2021 at 01:07 PM about the 2006 Hyundai Tucson GL 2WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Brlakes locking problem for over a year. Replaced master cylinder, 3 times,
booster advance, brake calipers. Brakes still locked up after long hot drive.
Removed fuses for ABS, still all 4 wheels lock when brakes applied. What is
the real problem?

I would bet it's your flexible rubber brake hoses. Those usually fail from the inside out. Not allowing the fluid to retract backward. Replace those and the fluid and bleed the system. Let us know if that corrects the issue.

Check your abs/traction control motor assembly. Looks like you did almost everything else. This motor has solenoids in it that control how much fluid goes to each brake as well as when to release each brake. If it only happens after long drives the housing may be getting hot allowing the solenoids to stick. I am currently fixing one doing the same thing on only 1 brake. The top of the assy is labled what line is for what brake, crack the one loose that is sticking and see if you get fluid back and brake lets loose. Eliminates all the other possibles that way. On the 06 im working on this unit is next to the RF fender inside the engine compartment.
