Need a good battery with high cold cranking amps.
i just bought this car yesterday and dont know much about it the battery was died when we looked at it brought it home and charged it and bought it the next day it started yesterday and drove real nice no warning lights but it was not as cold as today my husband said it was 12 volts
my husband said the motor oil looked thick and dirty and thinks that the oil may be to thick and it cant turn the motor over is this possible
Take it to a garage and have the battery load tested. I have seen them show 12v and load test them and drop to 4v. Load tested they should not drop below 10v and build back to 12v in 5 seconds. If it is a good battery it will crank it over thick oil or not. That is why I wanted to know the engine size. v10 or diesel no less than 1000 cca and v8 gas no less than 800cca.
V6 and 4 cylinder 500-700 cca.
500-700 CCA will be fine. Make sure and buy a good battery though.
