Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I own a 1991 Volvo 940 Sedan with mechanical problems. I have spent thousands of dollars on the car. The main problem is that the car stalls periodically and a number of the electronics do not work. The passenger window is broken and will not roll up or down. The seats also have electronnic problems. The car has 129,921 miles on the speedometer.
The car has 20 years of wear and tear, but is in decent condition. If I could solve the stalling issue I think I could get a lot more use out of it. Any suggestion of what I could sell this car for?

this is a $500 car at best the window is most likely a window switch $30 part easy to replace worst case is a window motor which is about 3-400 dollar fix the stalling it most likely an improperly set up and dirty throttle. unless the check engine light is on if you spent thousands and its not fixed you had the wrong person working on the car.

Thank you for your response BritishPerformance. I just want to be sure. You mean I can get $500.00 for the car or $500.00 to repair it? I cannot find anyone who can diagniose the stalling problem. The mechanics I have taken the car to keep telling me they do not own the proper diagnostic equipment (1991) to figure out exactly what is going on, yet they still have charged me all kinds of money to fix problems with the car.

It stalls as I start it up sometimes. I disconnected the battery because the car is sitting for long periods of time. If the battery is connected the car will not start at all because the battery is drained. It has literally turned off on the freeway before. I was in the fast lane and the car just turned off. It stalls or putters at left and right turns, going up hill and turning on a hill. Since I am not a mechanic I do not know if stall is the right word. When it is idleling it begins to sputter and I feel I need to rev the gas in order to keep the car from turing off or stalling. I am without an A/C, my window on the passenger side will ot roll up or down. My A/C began to deliver air towards my feet before I was forced to stop using it. I cannot afford to invest in the car because of my current lack of finances. I have been looking into turning the car and keys over to one of those companies that will give me cash for it. I am just at a loss. Thank you in advance for your response, mockingbirds

This is fuel relay problem. Have the mechanics replace the relay.
