Gas Mileage?

Just bought a 940GL with auto trans and O.D. and 117k miles. Check engine light is on--don't have code read yet. I am only getting 19-20mpg in mixed driving. What should I expect to get with car in optimum tune abd running condition?

Do the auto transmissions last as long as the engines in these cars?

I would expect mid 20's - Get the check engine light issue fix and mileage will rise. It is why it is there :) Good Luck
