Question type: Car Customization
I have a 98 S70 and i would like to raise the turbo boost a little bit. I obviously don't want to blow my engine so i was wondering if anyone knows a safe amount of boost the engine can handle. thanks for the help.

Check on turbobricks.com I use them and they are really knowledgeable.
Turbo Bricks is a very helpful site...although geared towards the older bricks. You might find VolvoSpeed.com a very useful site. do you have a GLT or T5?
Volvo normally ships their cars running 7 psi from the factory, or at least thats what its been for all the turbo Volvo's I've owned. I've talked to people who have run up to 10 psi but much more than that and you start to lose efficiency in the turbo. But you can play around and find what you like, just make sure you don't try to go too high.
The important thing about upping boost is making sure it doesn't come on too early. YOU WILL BEND RODS. I am running 12 PSI on my T5 Manual with an MBC, but it doesn't come on until after 3500 RPM to full boost. Volvospeed.com is your friend. Super knowledgeable guys who have done just about everything to a Volvo you can imagine.
