Your car probably has high miles and the rings and/or valve guides and seals are worn. If you want to keep driving it have your mechanic put in plugs that are a higher heat grade which will burn the oil off. Does your car smoke or use a lot of oil?

What grade of oil do you run and how often do you change the oil and filter? Going to the next heavier grade of oil might help a little.

Valve cover gasket/spark plug rings are probably leaking. This can also be caused by a clogged PCV, which causes oil to pool on the valve cover.
