Best place in Kansas City for Volvo repairs? Possible blown head gasket...

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yesterday, when arriving at work, my 1998 Volvo S70 T5 started running roughly... then it died completely. Got it started again, but now it idles rough, and pours whitish smoke out of the exhaust. After giving it some gas, when easing off, it loses power further, running really weak for a moment, and if I rev it hard enough, it just dies altogether. I haven't noticed any coolant in the oil, though the car has probably only run for about 3 minutes total since this has happened. I'm guessing the headgasket is blown, but I'm not 100% sure about that. I need to get it out of my work garage, but I'm worried that driving it home (about 3 miles) will further damage it. Anybody have a good place for this sort of work? Any good Volvo specialists?

I would leave it where it is for now if you can. Talk to a repair shop and see if they can pick it up or you can take it to them. No reason to moving it home. Here's a list of repair shops and you can change or expand the radius. --- http://www.cartalk.com/mechanics-files/search? city=kansas+city&state=KS&radius%5Bsearch_units%5D=mile&radius %5Bpostal_code%5D=&radius%5Bsearch_distance%5D=10&keywor d=&field_makes_tid=All

Thanks for the suggestions. The issue turned out to be much simpler than I originally thought. The boost hose had detached from the turbo. What I thought might be a 4 digit repair turned out to be $80. Whew! I was really thinking the issue was catastrophic.
