What does the jerk feel like? Do you notice if the RPM drops? It could be related to something like the MAF sensor or it could be more along the lines of a worm out motor mount. It could also have something to do with the transmission. How does the fluid level look?

If this S90 has more than 175,000 miles, then most likely it is the torque converter. The torque converter has aluminum teeth while the transmission shaft is harden steel. Over time the steel shaft wear away at the aluminum teeth on the torque converter. Not terribly expensive to remedy.
