Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've never owned a Volvo before and see why now so many are devouted to the brand! Just discovered though that the ABS control unit is bad so that's a tough one to swallow right off the bat! I'll be replacing myself, looks pretty easy.

Not rocket-science to replace, but not that easy either. Like all ALB/ABS units they need to get their exercise on a regular basis, guess you found a car driven by a little old lady..

For your ABS unit...before you fork out big bucks foe a new one...lokk around for someone who can fix it for you. Contacts inside need to be re-soldered. had mine done yesterday for $250 and now it runs like a charm.

Checkout MIDWEST ABS, Matt Pollack is the owner, & he is AWESOME! He repairs these units on the volvos & he just did my daughter's 850 for less than $70.00 & NO CORE CHARGE ! He can be reached at pollackm74@gmail.com or 517-902-1369. He is also listed on Mathews Volvo site as well. Good luck !
