1998 volvo v70xc - only rear wheels seem to be engaging the car, front wheels don't appear to be engaged

Asked by chocolatevolvo98 Mar 06, 2019 at 10:02 PM about the 1998 Volvo V70 XC Turbo AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The all wheel drive vehicle I own does not seem to be engaging the front wheels.   In snow, the rear wheels spin / lose traction very easily and the fronts don't seem to be helping at all.

Figured it out: Drivers side front axle was not fully inserted into the transmission I took it out inspected it for damage, cleaned it really well, reinserted it, drove it all the way in to the stop, reassembled the car. Took it for a test drive and it performed as usual.
