the wiring harness through the door would create an intermittent condition...sometimes there sometimes not...when the weather gets cold things contract...warm they expand...will shop for a harness for the driver's side...I imagine~

Judge_roy. Thank you for your answer. this wiring harness looks like a non mechanic like me can install it correct?? From your answer I assume that you are talking about replacing the wiring harness on the drivers side left front door. Is that door panel easy to take off and put back on???

You will have to consult the Technician's Handbook on that one...could check a few blogs...let you know if any of the info escaped from the tech manual~
it's the switch's connections, not the wiring harness. Over time the get a coating. Pull out the switch and clean all the contacts. This is usually the problem. They switches also go bad. I replace mine with a new one for $100 (do gogle search).
Pull it out. Disassemble. The circuit board just below the switches has contacts that are closed when a rubber thingie presses at them. They, like all contacts, oxidize with time passing. Scrape them GENTLY with the blade of a thin flat screwdriver until black turns copper-y. Put it back together, reconnect, reinstall. Works for my 2002 V70XC. Your mileage may vary.
