1997 blazer v6 just changed cap and rotor, now takes long time to fire

Asked by GuruB4SPZ Dec 02, 2018 at 06:33 PM about the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer 2-Door RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 Chevy Blazer, with the v6.  Just changed distributor cap and rotor
because it didn't want to fire when it rained.  Now it does fire and runs great,
but, if it sits long enough to cool, it cranks forever before it fires.  When warm,
fires right up, just like it did before cap and rotor were replaced.

Just adding to the initial post. I would like to know of anyone has an idea what I can do to get it firing easier, like it did before changing the distributor cap and rotor. I bought a cheap set, Would a better, more expensive one be 'hotter' or stronger so it doesn't have to roll over so long before it fires? Thank you.
