how to change oil in 2000 supercharger?

The supercharger's oiling system holds 0.24 L (8 oz.) of GM P/N 12345982 synthetic oil. The oil level should reach the bottom of the threads in the inspection hole. ... Its a synthetic so I believe it was supposed to last the life of the vehicle ( yeah right ) There is NO service schedule for it. Maybe some kind of suction system to get it out of the fill hole otherwise if its low top it off. Complete removal of the unit would be needed to remove all 8 ounces for replacement.

Supercharger oil is actually supposed to be replaced every 50,000 miles. It's not a synthetic, but a formula made up of various organic oils. It actually goes rancid, so when it comes out, it will STINK. The best way to change it is to use a large syringe, like a feeding syringe from Tractor Supply, along with a short piece of plastic tube. Jack up the left side of the car a little bit so the oil flows towards the fill plug. Undo the plug, insert the tube on the end of the syringe and draw out as much oil as you can. Repeat til you can't draw any more. Set the car down, and then jack up the RIGHT side of the car. Poor in TWO bottles of GM Supercharger oil, then replace the plug, and lower the car. Done.

I have a 1995 Buick Park Ave Ultra and had strange noise from the engine. My garage told me it's the Harmonic Balancer. Got it replaced (don't change with a re-built). Noise went away. Another noise still persists. Asked the garage and was told that it's the bearing in the cone assembly of the supercharger. This is a dealer item since when I checked with Autozone they don't carry it. I'm trying to find a replacement for the cone assembly. Don't want to spend too much on such repairs so will attempt to have the oil replaced in the supercharger as some of the folks have suggested.

you could have a bearing going bad at the snout of the sc,I own 3 T BIRD super coupes with the 3.8 supercharged engine.the other poster was right about how to get the oil out,best oil to put back in is ROYAL PURPLE SC OIL.

RPR's supercharger question. Check the input drive coupling before replacing supercharger. De-tension belt a bit and rotate input pully back and forth. Slop in coupling element can then be felt. Wear causes a lot of noise when running, especially heard at idle as A/C kicks in and out.
