3.8 OUT 5.3in?

i have a 99 chevy pick 4x4 up with a 5.3complete truk i want to take the motoer out n put it in my 97 camaro and have it pass NY state emission i what would have to do to make it work would the 4x4 harnes work on a 2 wheel drive trany for the 5.3 and would the ecm be the same ???

I dont belive the engine will bolt to the 3.8 trans. As far as emissions anything can be fooled except a visual, but it's difficult.

The New York State inspection is not easily fooled. A computer is plugged into the OBD port and the registration is scanned. If anything is triggering a code, you don't pass.
