A/C blower fan

Asked by GuruHP4J4 Jul 31, 2019 at 12:32 PM about the 2007 Buick Rainier CXL AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Blower goes on intermittently.  REplaced fan blower resistor that ran constantly.
New resistor did the same thing.  Replaced it thinking it was defective  and the
same thing occurred. Is there some other way to check and repair.  It is the
aurtomatic climate control

Automatic Climate Control, thanks for that important bit. There are 2 types of blow motor resistors. The one for manual controls is called blower resistor, if you bought that, there's your problem. The one for auto controls is called Blower Motor Control Module, both look the same but are very different. If indeed you did get correct one, make sure you replaced the pigtails too. These are notorious for melting on the inside and shorting out, hard to tell visually. I've replaced several of these, pigtails are a must. This problem is so common, local autoparts might even have them. If not, rock auto .com has them for sure.
