Sounds like you have a partially clogged catalytic converter. So this test at night let engine idle for about

Do this test at night let engine idle for about 15 minutes to half hour and take a look at the catalytic converter and if it starts to turn red the converter is clogged.
I GUTTED IT IT STILL DOES SAME

Check the throttle position switch it maybe adjustable if not clean also removed air filter and try to run vehicle may not be getting enough air flow to throttle. Also check to see if your vehicle has a ( ETCS ) Electronic Throttle Control System fuse.
If you have a cvt transmission then that is where you need to look. I had the same problem. Took it to several different places until about the 5th place and hundred of dollars later I was told I need a new transmission. Very expensive transmission that not many know how to work on.

If you have the car in park it's a rev limiter to keep the owner from blowing the car up, in fairly certain most if not all Calibers have them then they don't typically whine out to max RPM for its basically a constant variable transmission.. that's what CVT means. And that's how most are originally are made to be. Now it can also be a mass air flow sensor blown or is bad. That will also put a limiter on it as it will be in "limp mode". If the CVT Transmissions go bad no matter the brand. Since its relatively new tech. Nobody can rebuild them. So your cheapest bet to fix it would be to find a used one. If that isn't an option them it requires a New trans. Nissan Product does only CVT Trans. On all cars and most their suv for about a decade the only ones that are not are both trucks the titan and frontier. My sis-in- law had an Altima with a bad CVT trans. About 8 years ago and it had to go to Nissan to get it replaced and it had to be new. Luckily she had a great warranty company with ASC and paid 100% of the repair of $8,000 at the dealer. Was worth the 1,000 for the warranty she paid. That car only had 80k on it too. Dodge/Chrysler cars tend to have a lot of Mercedes-Benz drivetrain so that can also be something of shared tech. Hint why it's crap design and service. Hope any or all my possibilities are it and or helpful. Good luck!
