Dodge Caliber had loud grinding noise...drove about 10 miles...won't start now. Battery is fine

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car (2007 Dodge Caliber) had been making a sputtering noise for a week or
two. Also I would hear a squeak sound from the front end (very brief and not
often but when I did, it was when I was just starting the car, still in park
and/or when I initially accelerated)

Today driving home I hear loud grinding noise. (got louder the faster I drove,
so kept it to about 50 on the way home) Drove it about 7 miles just to make it
home. It had a burnt/hot smell after 3 miles of this grinding.

Made it home, but car will not start at all (since turning it off). Battery is new
and works just fine. I know it s the engine. Does anyone possibly know what
this is & does this sound repairable? Thank you

Well I got my oil changed 2000 miles ago... Does that answer at all? Basically I have never put oil in myself
