Starting problems after battery replaced

Asked by mtueffers Feb 06, 2016 at 07:20 PM about the 2007 Audi A6 3.2 quattro Sedan AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Replaced the battery and reconnected. Put key in ignition to start. In on position, nothing comes on, in start position, nothing happens. Key locks in ignition. Put battery charger on under hood & not it has electric items on dash lights, radio etc but in start position, nothing fires. Removed the charger, & we are back to nothing when in on position & nothing when I try to start. Any Ideas? They commands on the key do not work either. Wont lock or unlock. Would appreciate some suggestions. Cant believe that a battery change takes a PHD.

I take it you did not put a charger on the cables when you removed the battery? your going to have to take the car into a shop and have all the systems re adapted cause when you remove the battery it wipes the computers memory and this means you need to readopt things like the throttle body and such. this may or may not be the issue but i believe it may be.it

I would check the battery connection especially the ground point from the battery. Just behind the spare tire (along the bumper) there is a battery manangement box and the negative jump point. Check to make sure all connections are clean, intact and tight.
