2007 Mercedes Benz C230 Check Engine Light

I purchased a used 2007 Mercedes Benz C230 in January 2017. I have had 4 issues with the Check Engine Light coming on after I fill with gas. I remove the cap and put it back on and after 3-4 restarts, it goes away. Last weekend, I put gas in, made sure the cap was tight and after 50 miles, the light came on. I did the cap thing and as usual, it went off after 3-4 restarts. Now it's back on again. I'm starting to think the seal on my gas cap may be bad. Should I purchase a new cap?

There is a small leakage in your evaporative cannister and try to diagonise the car to know the exact problem your car is having.

Thank you, I actually will be taking the car to MB for the airbag recall, so I can have them look at it.

an unlikely cause could be the O ring on the cap squashed beyond usable life
