Start by checking the fuel pressure at the Schrader valve. It should be 56 to 63 lbs. Another thing would be to check the Throttle Positioning Sensor. I believe that can be checked at Auto Zone.

Change everything under the hood and under the truck (gas tank, fuel pump, and fuel filter) on my 96 Chevy Suburban. Couldn't figure it out. Until now. The distributor was the problem. Arcing and oil was on the distributor.
