My 2007 Mercedes Benz CLK 350 will not leave first gear. It also jerks when put into park, reverse, & drive gear.

I would start with checking the transmission fluid level and make sure its full and looks like cherry kool-aid.
First thing in the A.M. i will but it should be pretty fine i was thinking because i just hit1000 miles since my last oil change & it should be good. I will hit you back in the A.M. with the results thanks bro.
Sounds good but if you have a transmission leak in 1000 miles you can lose enough fluid to be low or completely empty. Make sure the car is warmed up and on a level surface before you pull the trans dipstick to check it.
Ok thanks alot. Hopefully its something minor as trans fluid. Besides this problrm its pretty good also only sitting on 79,880.
Trans level looks low but im scared to drive it anymore. I need to drive it a lil to get a accurate trans reading. Gotta go to benz dealer to get trans only. Knowone else has the trans. Its only $26 a quart. Lets hope this solves my problem.
You don't need to drive it anywhere to get a more accurate reading. If its low get the fluid fill it up then go drive it. I hope its something this simple for you and your wallets sake.
Is there a setting to put your transmission into a low gear and not change it until you physically change it? On the dash it should say if your in "D" for drive or "1" for first gear. If it is in "1" then the manual shifting part is activated. Make sure the gear selection on the council read "D". Stranger things have happened. I think in the MBZ, you tap the gear selector either left or right to change gears.
Did you find the problem. Mines is doing the exact same thing
Is the check engine light on?
