Mercedes s550 4matic won't shift

I just gave someone a jump on a car that's been
sitting in the her for weeks, I drive off 30 minutes
later my car stop going past first gear and when I
shift it into gear i can hear it shift in hard into first
what's the problem?

This car is a dual clutch right? I don't think it had anything to do with the jump start, unfortunately it sounds like it might be a manufacturing problem. This is uncommon but the ecu might have a problem telling the gears to change.

Also if the car has a different modes (comfort, sport or whatever) try and shift it a different mode and see if there is any change. (is this a new s class; that's to bad to see this happen on a car that expensive).
