2007 Toyota Corolla cruise control has stopped working.

My 2007 Toyota Corolla cruise control has stopped working.  When the "ON"
button is pressed the light on the dash still comes on, but the speed will not set
when pressing the lever down.  Is there a fuse I should check, or is it more
likely the clock spring or the switch lever itself?  Is there a way to test before I
start swapping parts?

When a cruise control system fails first check the fuse, for codes, bad pedal switch, speed sensor, or an actuator, hose, or failed cable off the cruise control.
