Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 toyota corolla Le. One day I was driving and the Cruise
control stopped working. When Ever I push the button it use to have a light
on the dash come on. I dont get anything anymore. I tried to see if it still
worked and it does not. I have checked fuses and they all look good. I
bought a replacement cruise control and the new one did not work. Does
anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Exactly what did you replace? The stalk on steering column? Or what? "Replacement cruise control" involves many things ..and did you DIY or have it done?

I tried replacing the cruise switch itself. Just unplugged the switch and plugged the new one in before installing it

FordNut, My next thought was to inspect the brake pedal and the sensors that attached there. I have heard that there can be issues down there.

After replacing the switch and then the speed sensor on top of the transmission and double checking the brake switch to no avail, I replaced the clock spring and yippee! That was the answer. If you have only a horn, the airbag and the cruise control on the "turning" side of the wheel, a $76 clock spring from Advance Parts will do it. If you have radio controls on it, the part is a lot more. At any rate, the repair is not terribly hard. Watch all the You Tube videos dealing with what has to be dealt with and get someone to help you with getting the steering wheel off ( you need a 19mm socket extension and drive to do that. The other tools are common. Good Luck. If this don't work it would have to be a broken connection in the steering column or the ECM.
