Check Engine Light

Asked by Colbertra Oct 28, 2017 at 07:24 PM about the 2007 GMC Envoy SLE-1 4 Dr SUV 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 2007 GMC Envoy SLE.  Check Engine Light is on. Took it to one auto parts store told no
active codes just 30 history codes. Took it to second auto parts store and told that it was P040
(gas cap). Took it to dealership and was given these codes:
P0480, P0483, P0496, P0455, P0411, P0326, P0411, P0017,P0014, P0133, P0133, P0171,
U1016, U1064 and U100.

Truck is running fine. Not sure if it's the main computer or something else. Changed gas cap
(from factory), changed fuel injector and cleaned same. Light has been on for over a year. Trying
to go through admissions.

Any suggestions.

I would suggest you go to someone who has a scanner that can read live data. they will hook it up and run the car. you will then know if all of those things are actually occurring or not.

clear the codes and see if any are still there , those could be permanent codes that will only go away when the problem is solved , if clear see if any come up and see what it is when they do , your experience may differ

I had about five of those codes. Take out throttle body and MAF sensor and clean them really well. Don't soak them! Use a toothbrush. Check your manifold bolts also. Sometimes they can come loose and create an air leak. Check the video on YouTube for gmc throttle body cleaning. Total cost about $20 and an hour of your time.
