It over heated on the highway & shout down before I could pullover in traffic  there's no water in the crank case oil so that's a plus, it turns over with kind of a loping sound like it wants to start a friend said thinks can here fuel pump, any ideas of what is wrong ??

So the engine and radiator are full of coolant? Why did it overheat? The battery has a full charge and battery cables/connections all good? If the cranking rpms sound faster than normal, you may not have any compression? Have helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs, also, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse? Check for applicable trouble codes? Those are the basic checks, in my opinion.
