'96 Chevy Blazer with shaking engine and blinking check engine light

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

'96 Chevy Blazer with shaking engine and blinking check engine light... I know I need to replace to the Power Brake Booster (have part ordered). Could this be the cause (since its related to engine vacuum) or should I possible be looking for another cause? Thanks!

With blinking check engine light do not drive. More major damage will caused if you drive. With that age vehicle I would check cat convertor. Is it glowing red after driving?

If that 4.3 has a programmed cap( horizontal outputs) I would be suspect of that. Even previous distributor caps were problematic at age.

blinking means miss fire, if the booster is causeing a large enough vacuum leak it can cause a miss like that, near stalling the truck. But just about anything is possible
