I have a 1996 Chevy Blazer which until 4+ years ago - due to a move - I had to put it in the hands of an excuse for a mechanic for "routine" care...only to find he was not doing ANY of the work on her for which I was paying. Needless to say, she now requires a complete overhaul - I want her to look like she did in 1996 - and to tum like she did then (and did until this joker got hsi hands on her!!) - How much do your think a complete overhaul would cost and who in CT can I call???

Thanks for your response....There is no legal resource - though he was supposed to be helping me to maintain it in safe and decent condition, he apparently saw my handwriting on his "wall" and 'closed shop and moved on....' And, yes the maintenance was (is) two-fold: sentimental AND reliable (until the hacker got ahold of it) I had NEVER had a moments issue with it when the former mechanic was maintaining it. But now it is a total restore and I am looking for a ballpark $ and a referral (if possible). It may come to a financial decision - but I need to KNOW ($) before I change direction on my desire to restore. Thank you for your very wise and practical opinion. But I need numbers - and possibly a referral. Thank you again. lbw

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING REPLY! And not ONE pat on my female head!! You are a treasure for sure! I am beginning to think that if I could find someone who would restore it (for themselves) and not patronize me by saying they were doing so and then using it for whatever pieces they could get) -- I would gift them with her...just so I knew she would be taken care of and used properly. ( I felt the same way about my kids as they got older and made choices about their future...goofy me, I know.) So thank you again for your detailed comments and your understanding - all I need is a POWER BALL WIN... ;-)
