I have already changed both coils, boots, and spark plugs. The mechanic switched coil 7 and 8 to check for faulty coil. On Friday, the mechanic changed all parts second time. It ran like a scaulded did for 3 days then engine light came on again. It still has all of its power but light is on. Should I try the plug wires? It doesn't make any sense to me that pug wires would affect the cylinders.

Yes, try the plug wires. Coils, boots, plugs and plug wires can all cause a misfire if faulty. If that doesn't do it you can try looking at the injector pulse.

I find Ford vehicles to be finicky when it comes to non-motorcraft coils etc. Had a bad coil on an 99 explorer. Purchased an aftermarket and checked it out the box. Was not within Ford specs. Installed, truck ran bad. Replaced with Motorcraft coil and everything was fine. Same problem with 2004 F-150. Changed all coils after a tune-up with aftermarket and truck ran like crap. Replaced with motorcraft and it ran fine. I won't be bitten again.
