what could cause my Buick Rendezvous to stop running while driving. I have to put it in neutral turn key off then start it again

If you get the battery light on the dash, is the alternator. If not is the battery.

If it was the battery or the alternator it wouldn't start back up. Do any lights come up on the dash?

if is the alternator it will start but it won't charge the battery well and then it would stop the car. If its the battery it will start but you might have some features that won't work as usual.

If its the alternator and its not charing then the battery would die hence why the vehicle would turn off and if the battery is dead it wouldn't start again by just putting it in neutral. Dumb. Ass.

my buick well start and stay running for a bit then shut off and once it cools down it will start back up again but I don't know whats wrong with it because their is not lights on the dashboard

I own a 2006 rendezvous cxl. Stalls at any and all speeds. Sometimes not for days, other times multiple times per day,or a few times a week. Sets no codes. Checked alternator, battery and cables and terminals.cleaned fuel intake injectors. Still happens randomly. Most recently it stalled twice in less than 15 miles of disrance traveled at highway speeds over 60 mph. Then 3 days later...6 times in one day at speeds between 10 mph nearing a stop sign slowing down and at all speeds between there and 55 mph around town. I was starting, travel to destination ,stop, travel again , stop while running errands. Drove less than 50 miles round trip hat day. Always starts right back up. Could be electronic or other sensors,fuel, anything? Is not due to battery or alternator. Too many possibilties to eliminate . The car is just unsafe to continue driving ,waiting to see if what you tried has fixed the issue or not.
