1995 Buick Roadmester doesn't start, changed battery and starter and still won't start. Dash lights come on but nothing else happens.

My 1995 Buick Roadmaster had an intermittent starting problem. When it didn't
start the dash lights would illuminate but the starter would not turn over. Other
times it would start with no problem. I changed the battery and starter and now
it will not start at all. The dash lights still come on but the starter does not turn
over. Looking for the most probable cause for this problem.

Check your wiring at the starter. Also check all battery and cable connections. A "voltage drop test" can determine if your starter is receiving voltage (see attached pic). You may also need to check the starter relay. Try swapping out the starter relay, or if you have a meter, you can test it (see: http://www.wikihow.com/Test-a-Starter-Solenoid ). If battery, cables, relay and fuses are all good, you may need to check the ignition cylinder or ignition circuit (which includes the ignition control module). Google for tests you can run on those.

Does the "pass key" come on and stay on when this happens? If so your key/lock tumbler could be worn to the point that the anti theft will not recognize the key. I had the same issue with my 96 roadmaster. make sure all your grounds are tight battery to block and body to block. Check the positive cable at the battery and then at the fuse box (mounted near firewall same side as battery. Those have been known to have poor connections as cars age.
