It'll die when you hit the gas if you're in gear or neutral or both ? Did this start when it got cold out ?

look for loose /broken vacuum lines , blast some carb cleaner down the throttle at a high RPM , have someone rev the engine and see if a healthy blast of exhaust comes out the tail pipe , your catalytic may be clogged , do that first , see what your plugs look like
