I purchased a 1999 jaguar s type and has no key and it's locked I need to check how to open it to getb the vin number to order the key
The vin should be visible in the bottom corner of the windshield drivers side.
Did you buy it from the neighborhood car thief? Who sells cars without keys?
If it doesn't have any keys, what else doesn't work or is missing?
i have same problem but i bought with no key from salvage yard so how to i override security system

To get into trunk you need to pull out the rear seat by releasing the clips/ locking tabs (3 of them) at the bottom front base of the seat underneath. They are on the left, middle and right, and by pushing them one direction with some pressure, they will unlatch. Awkwardly move the rear seat to the rear passengers floor to get it out of the way (or undo the seat belts from the seat assembly and take the seat out). Then on the rear drivers side portion of the rear seat (the rear seat splits into two portions a bigger one and a thinner one), the two (14mm I think) bolts need to be taken out, one near the door, other near the middle and the seat needs to be lifted off of the bolt studs. The seat will not fully come out because it is locked in at the top and you need trunk access to lower it. So it will wedge at the top and there will be a tiny-ish opening at the bottom you can put your arm in and see inside the trunk if your legs are outside the door and your back is on the metal of where the rear bench seat rests. Then you can see the emergency hatch release and if you reach far enough, it will unlock. This is if the doors are unlocked and the trunk is locked with the car dead. There are other ways to get trunk access when there is power. One is by getting into the engine bay and bypassing some system but I am not too certain, it is on the internet though! Good luck. -Pat
