X-Type 2005 3.0 AWD overheated after cooling down OK. Could it be thermostat?

Asked by Edcoster Sep 02, 2014 at 04:53 PM about the 2005 Jaguar X-TYPE 3.0L Sportwagon AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A/C cut out and engine overheated. After letting it cool down for an hour it restarted and
stayed normal temp. Later tried a/c and it worked. Radiator gave off steam but fluid only
down 1 pint. Could it be simple thermostat problem? Don't trust Jaguar repair as
everything they quote for any repair starts at $1,000.

If it is running cool now,it may have just been thermostat sticking, change thermostat.
