2001 GMC Sierra abs light problem

Asked by jwkoss19 Feb 07, 2015 at 02:33 AM about the 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 4WD Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Today I turned my truck on and the ABS light came in. Driving home ABS kept engaging.
Replaced one of the ABS sensors and the light will now come on a start up, go away
them come back when I get up around 25-35MPH. But brakes seem to be working fine.
Any ideas on what's causing my ABS light to come on? I disconnected my battery after
changing the sensor as well. I'm lost in the sauce on this one!!

Adjust your sensor may have to get the sensor reset. May have to have the OBD computer hookup to scan it be sure that your connector on the abs wire has made good connection this seem to be a problem that is often seen that and check to make sure no wires have been damaged by grabbing them and slightly pulling on them to make sure they are not gooey they are that is where your bad wire is and you can strip the wire back and re wire it and repair it and it should fix your issue
