Will start when cold but after running for short time like going to a grocery store in trying to restart it will not start until it sit for a little bit

I have a 96 Chevy van express order to get it to start you
have to put your gas pedal down to the floor and then turn
ignition when it’s cold but when you started after that it’s
run for short time like go to the gas station turn it off it will
not restart it acts like it’s flooded or it has an old
carburetor can anybody help me

if you can purge the fuel rail when it won't start see if that helps then it may be the fuel pressure regulator , don't start any fires

You have to disconnect it. Then crank the engine and see if fuel comes out. Be very careful and have a hose ready, just in case.
