I'd like to use low range in 4x2 to pull heavy load up long slow switchback hill. Is there a way to prevent the transfer case from engaging the front axle, and keep rear axle in low?
2006 GMC Sierra 1500 HD 6.0 liter
I'd like to either disable the front posi-traction in 4x4 low, or disable the front drive axle (not permanently) so I can shift to low range and NOT use the front axle to drive. This is to creep up a long steep hill towing a load, on pavement, without wrecking the front axle from the sharp turns on the road. thanks!
