95 Chevy blazer

Asked by Rita Dec 20, 2015 at 05:53 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet Blazer 2-Door 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 95 Chevy blazer cranks but will not turn over or
start until I jump it. I have a new battery, crank
sensor, new plugs and wires. I also had the starter
and alternator checked and they are good. It just
cranks until the battery runs down but with a jump
it starts right up. Could anyone tell me what to
check next.

I'd check the fuel pump pressure, and the grounds for the fuel pump. If it starts when it is jumped, I'm thinking connections are corroded for the fuel pump. After checking fuel pump connections check the pressure, If it has a TBI set-up pressure would be 9 to 13 lbs. If it is a vortec, pressure should be 56 to 63 lbs. But if it is a vortec that is a hole nother ball of wax. Let us know.

Have had fuel pressure checked and they said it was good. It is a vortec

Did they do a bleed down test? Pressure should not drop more than 5 lbs. in 5 minutes. If it does, either the fuel regulator, spider lines, or the injectors are leaking. Makes for hard starting.
