1995 chevy caprice 161k sometimes my car sputters real bad and will cut off when I come to a complete stop and
cranking it up after this is a real problem also I've replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter also a shop told my just
bring it in when the car does this but it doesn't happen all the time

Get the codes read. A good scanner will detect pending codes that have not happened enough to trigger a check engine light. That might give you a cause of the occasional sputtering. Also check for vacuum leaks and the replace the PVC valve if it hasn't been done recently.

the only code i got was an EGR code so they capped it off but that didn't help and the check engine light might stay on 5 mintues

Your EGR valve is failing or has completely failed. You need to replace it.

The egr system is a huge part of the engine and the way it runs.

when it's not sputtering it runs just fine no check engine light or anything like that
