2006 Kia Sorento Ignition Switch is stuck to steering column
The key cylinder broke and key spins freely because the internal components
to the (81900-3EA10) is snaped off. I have disconnected everything to the
Steering Lock assembly and yet it will not come off the steering column. I
have removed the broken bolt/nut and it still will not slide out so I can replace
the entire assembly. What is holding it from sliding out?

The cylinder lock has been removed. I need to remove the entire assembly but the assembly will not come loose from the steering column.
There is a pin at the bottom ,you have to remove it from column before it will release it.
There is a metal shroud that is tack welded from the steering column which this arm slides into. The only way to allow the pin to release is to turn the key into the off position. However the internal parts to this assembly is broken off so I cannot even put the cylinder back into the assembly to put it into the off position.
What makes that arm (with the pin) slide out if you don't have a key to force the pin down? Do I cut through the welds and bend the metal back so it comes out?
Here is a picture looking down into the ignition lock assy with the broken off piece. Without that piece in there how can I get the small pin to release so I can pull the metal housing out of the steering column?

Resolution is to stick a screw driver into the ignition lock assembly and press to the right side pushing the spring assembly. That will cause the pin on the left side to go down. It will then begin to slide out of the shaft. However, you will have to remove two bolts holding the steering column (top) and slide the column towards driver door. This will give you enough room to remove the ignition lock assembly from the car.
Hi azvol16 I know is an old post but I’m stuck at the same spot... I’m pushing the spring assembly to the right, but I don’t notice any pin going down... And of course I’m not being able to review the assembly from the shaft Any tips? Thanks
In the second picture, at one o'clock is the spring and pin. Try sliding a flat head screw driver between the black spring and the gray housing. Don't damage the gray housing. The ignition had to be in ACC for me to push on the pin to release my ignition cylinder. According to the picture, the part with the spring is broken and will be replaced.
