Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2006 Kia spectra 5 I had originally had p0032
heater oxygen sensor bank 1 bank . I replaced both O2
sensors and the oil temp sensor. I also replaced spark
plugs, ignition wires.
Car has fuel and oil. Everything is connected. There is
power. I even changed some fuses.
But I remain with crank and no start. Car sounds like it
wants to go over but doesnt

You need three things for the engine to run. Spark, fuel, and compression. That's it. To find out what's missing spray a little starting fluid down the throttle body. It should run a few seconds on that. If it does you have a fuel problem. Bad fuel pump, fuel injectors, etc. If it will not run on the starting fluid you either have an ignition (no spark) problem or no compression. Check for spark first. If you have spark, run a compression test. If all cylinders test very low or zero you have a jumped timing chain and or broken timing belt requiring a major engine repair. Jim
Thank you so much. It ended up that I had the firing order mixed for #3 and #4. Now the issue is p0303. I swapped plugs and wires. Could A failed gasket cause it?
You're welcome, glad to help! Thank you for the best answer click! It could, but I'd check to make sure you're getting spark and fuel to cylinder number three. Remove the spark plug for cylinder number three and look at the tip (electrode) that goes into the engine. It should be dry with grayish deposits on it. If it's wet and smells like gasoline the cylinder isn't getting spark. If it's dry it's not getting fuel. If it's black and wet/oily check the compression on that cylinder. If compression is low there's an internal problem, such as rings or a valve not closing properly. But, since you just did a tune up, recheck your work. Make sure the spark plug wires are installed securely, at both ends and that they're routed properly. Don't forget to look at that number three spark plug too. You might have gotten a defective one. Unfortunately it happens sometimes. Jim
I saw that failed/clogged fuel injectors could be a cause as well. I did pick up so carb cleaner, and watched a few videos about cleaning them. I'm going to reach all my connections. And possibly do a compression test. I last changed all the gaskets in 2022 after my daughter blew her head gasket. The car has been running great until now. I hope it's nothing serious.
