Change out your thermostat. Cheap and easy. Shop may charge you just an hour labor if you can't do it yourself. Water pump should be ok..usually leaks or makes loud noise when bad. Try the thermostat first. Also make sure that your electric cooling fan is coming on when the car is hot. You could have a bad temp sensor...

If you are losing coolant, you likely have a leak. You will need to pinpoint the source of the leak. Then repair it. Thermostat should not be the problem, but it's a cheap replacement if you want to start there.
my 07 PT cruiser was doing the same thing and what we had to do was the bleed the radiator get look it up on Google how to bleed the radiator and you will have probably success

Talked to a Sherman Williams employee, who claimed he owns several P/T's and while he mentioned the thermostat also, said blown head gaskets and/or cracked blocks have been a problem with P/T's as well. I'm sure you've fixed it by now. My radiator cap failed on my '08 P/T base model at 93K also.
