Charging issue

I just put a new alternator on a 2007 pt cruiser.
Battery light is still on and does when you unhook
the battery. This was a real pain replacing. Please
tell me my new alternator is not bad.

Make sure all fuses and relays are good also check your connections,check to see if your getting 14v at the battery when running ,but it would not be a surprise if the alternator is faulty.
