How do i get my 07 convertible pt cruiser out of limp mode.

Asked by Shannon Sep 17, 2020 at 06:03 AM about the 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At first we were having problems with it getting hot (not overheating) so we
replaced everything from the thermostate, to cooling fans, checked relays
bought a new radiator cap, drained air from radiator, changed fluid we did
everything we think the new radiator cap did it not sure. But then i noticed it
was acting like it was having trouble accelerating, but everyone said its fine
then check engine light comes on. The codes 007, 882 n i think 1603 so we
took it shop n after 212.00 later he claimed that we needed a new transmission
temperature sensor and to check the wires. Anyways so my question is my
friend bought a relay and is trying to instal the relay and bypass the tipm is this
a good fix or will it only last a little while until it shorts out something else n try
n charge us hella money just so we can have a even bigger problem later can
somebody please tell me what am i saposed to do. Oh yeah also the ABS light
is on and the horn worked sometimes and the front windows dont work
everytime

I have a 2007 Of cruiser and had the same problem we even had a radiator flush done and did the heater core. Anyway the nothing worked. Until one day I happened to be buying antifreeze for our truck and right next to the stuff I was buying for our truck was a bottle of antifreeze that said for GM, chrysler, dodge vehicles. Go figure after putting all the money that we stuck into the cruiser it happened to be that the universal antifreeze was not universal after all and after flushing the "universal" antifreeze out and putting the chysler antifreeze in it hasn't even been close to the half way mark on the gauge. It hasn't got hot at All.
